Brett and MelodyLead Pastors
Pastor Brett came to Bell Road Assembly of God when his family answered God's call to pastor here in March of 1994. His dad, Rev. Ronald Williamson (1951-2008), left corporate management to fulfill God's call on his life to pastor. Brett was a senior in high school, two months away from graduation, with plans to attend Western Bible College, in Phoenix, AZ, in the fall of 1994 to prepare to be a youth pastor. Almost immediately, Pastor Ron approached Brett with a challenge that changed his life. After a debate about whether he was ready for such responsibility and a lot of prayer, Brett accepted the position of Youth Pastor, and held his first youth service on April 17, 1994.
While on his way to receiving his BA in Pastoral Ministry from WBC, Brett was credentialed with the Assemblies of God in 1996. He completed his undergraduate studies in December of 1998, and graduated in 1999 with highest honors.
On August 23, 2001, Pastor Brett married Melody, whom he met by design in 1996 at the prompting of a mutual friend attending the church. Melody grew up on the border of Mexico as a missionary's daughter, before moving to Arizona. She is currently an Administrator/Testing Coordinator for Arizona Virtual Academy. They have been blessed with two wonderful boys, Drew and Luke.
After 14 years as Youth/Associate Pastor here, Pastor Brett was faced with a new challenge. When his dad passed away suddenly, the question of succession was introduced into conversation. Through much prayer, time together and counsel with trusted friends, it became apparent that God was calling Pastor Brett and Melody to transition to serve as the Lead Pastors of Bell Road Church. They were elected on April 20, 2008.
Besides spending time with his family and doing ministry, Pastor Brett enjoys playing guitar and drums, exploring the outdoors, photography, shooting, disc golf, travel, and learning new things.
